Many of the digital images in David’s portfolio are derived from straightforward photographs of the natural world or as archival stills taken at various theatrical presentations.

The works chosen for this exhibition are based on original digital photographic images. These are drawn from many locations and for different creative purposes and applications. While the graphic content of this subject-matter is inherently appealing, it has been altered, immersed in a number of layers of varying intensities, combining images from several different sources. All visual media was created using these resources on a Macintosh computer.

The artworks on display are printed using a method of reproduction called giclée which offers an accurate rendition of the original digital file. They are printed on cold-pressed acid free matte paper or on high-gloss metallic paper. Both surfaces, combined with the pigments used during the printing process, ensure a long life for the artworks.
